I had Chinese last night. While I didn't introduce much sugar back into my system (I did eat a couple of pieces of Hot Braised Chicken), I still had some pork fried rice. I passed up the Crab Rangoon, but primarily because I don't like it from the particular restaurant we got it from. It wasn't like we were just sitting at home and decided to order Chinese. We had gone over to my mother-in-law's to pick up the kids since they had a snow day yesterday. We decided to go ahead and watch LOST with her and buy her dinner to say thank you for watching the kids. And so I CHOSE to eat with the family.
And I really thought that I'd be back on track today...and I was...until tonight. We took our Christmas tree down (yes...it took us this long...) tonight and rearranged the room. It took longer than I anticipated and the kids were driving us nuts! So we got them fed in the middle of all this and put them in bed, but hadn't done anything for ourselves for dinner. So we made a pizza. And I ate some. However, I am determined to do better tomorrow. And the next day. And the next. At least, that's the plan. I will admit I am a bit worried about travelling with the husband this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day.
What can I say? I'm an emotional eater. And I think that I will always struggle to overcome that but I'm not without hope! I will overcome.
Hi Jamie,
ReplyDeleteYou will overcome. It is so hard not to cheat on this diet but if you have children I believe that it is that much harder to stick to it. When the kids are driving me nuts I 9 times out of 10 will make poor food choices. I am an emotional eater too. What I try to remember is that one, two, three or even ten cheats does not have to bring our efforts to a screeching halt. We can always do better next time. Have a great weekend!
Tennille
Very true! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to go yeast-free and it's amazingly, insanely difficult! I'll check back with you here for encouragement. Thanks! Scott
