An intro to who I am

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

I stumbled across an event called The Ultimate Blog Party. I saw a link to it on another blog I read and it sounded right up my alley. I love to read and it is always fun to get to know other people through their own journaling of their lives online. I decided I would participate with my personal blog and then as I thought about it more, I knew there had to be others out there in the blogging community battling with their weight and diet that could possibly benefit from reading about someone else's blunders. This particular blog was created to help me as I journey through a life without yeast. Or as my post from yesterday will reveal, a life with just a little bit of yeast!

To participate in this upcoming event, it was recommended that you write a post to introduce yourself, so here it is.

My name is Jamie. I am 31 years old and I am addicted to food. I love to cook and I love to eat. It's that simple. But I am now learning that what I put into my body directly affects everything and everyone around me. Because the more sugar, gluten and yeast a person consumes, the more tired, cranky and difficult they become. At least this is what happened to me. I used to wonder what happened to me. How did I become such a negative, bitter person?

When I cut yeast out completely back in October, I rediscovered a small person trying to break out of this larger body that was actually happy and fun to be around. I want that person back and I believe that the only way to achieve that little victory is through changing what I put into my mouth.

I am completely new to this Ultimate Blog Party and openly admit that I'm intimidated. I am not sure what to expect or even if I will do it right. But I'm going to try anyway and we'll see what happens from here.

So there is just a little bit about who I am. I write for me. If others find inspiration or humor from it, or just enjoy angry rants and tangents, so be it. But I write for my own sanity; I write to clear my mind and what I write is a fairly accurate reflection of what is going on inside my head at any given moment. If I think it, I say it--or with regards to my blog, if I think it, I write it. Feel free to sit back and enjoy the show!

  3. I love that you're writing for yourself. And I'm intrigued by your yeast free living...I just started (about a month and a half ago) eating according to the Primal Blueprint and through that learned more about yeast and how the foods we eat effect us. I'll be checking out what you have to say!

  6. Hi! Nice to meet you Jamie. I'm soy-free. It let's itself be known in my system by turning my face into a huge hive for about a week. Oh well. I'm healthier because of it. Your journey will surely inspire others.

  9. I am so excited to have found you! I found out 9 days ago that I am allergic to yeast. In the 9 days since I stopped eating it, I feel so much better! It's amazing! Thanks for writing about this! It will be nice to learn from someone that has already been through the initial steps.
